Familiar color negative--A larger look at George Brett

image

New addition to the original Negative collection at Old School Images!
image

I cropped it to a gallery print of 20x24. The ratio on the negative is 4:5.
I'm planning on doing a 40x50 for the lobby of my baseball academy and hope to have Brett sign it.
Topps cropped quite a bit off of the original image--as is common--as you can see. I picked up the negatives for Jim Rice, George Brett, Fred Patek and Hal McRae from 1978 that were used on their 1979 topps baseball issues. Included were a couple of extras frames that were not used. No extra Bretts came in the collection, however. I'll post some of the others after I get them scanned in. The scans cost $30 each, so I won't be doing them all too soon, but I'll get to them eventually. Enjoy!

The color on the Brett is fantastic. Nice image thanks for sharing. You seem to be on a roll of finding nice images.

I'm always on the watch for Brett as well as a few others. I have been getting lucky of late, however. It's strange how I can go 6 or 7 weeks with nothing exciting and then a handful just pop up. I agree with you on the color. That was what struck me as well.

The larger image confirms something I've always thought: that this was taken in old Comiskey Park.

George always looked cool anywhere on the field.
  • You're correct. Comiskey park, 1978.
