I just bought some cards from Jay (qualitycards) and I felt bad that I couldn't pay until 5 days after the auction ended. I usually like to pay right after the auction closes.
Jay was super cool about it though. He's a good guy.
I state in my auctions that payment must be received within seven days of auction end, however it all depends on the situation. It depends on the buyer, if it's somebody I've dealt with before or somebody with good feedback I usually allow 2 weeks of no payment/no communication before filing a dispute, if it is a zero feedback bidder and by the end of the seven day period they have started receiving negatives for non payment then I usually go ahead and file a dispute.
whatever it stipulates in the auction. I state 7 days after auction closes. If I know the buyer, then I don't freak out if it takes a couple of days longer. If they communicate with me, I would give them more time. Luckily I have never had any issues with NPB'ers. If you buy an item, IMO you should pay for it immediately. If you need some extra time to pay, then you should not have bought the item to begin with.

Since we are in the world of speed, think about this.... how would Ebay work without the internet?? You think things are slow now? Just imagine no computer.
The longest I ever took to pay for an auction was 72 hours and I felt like a dirt bag. Most of my wins are paid for between 12 mins and 12 hours depending on the close time.

If you 10 cards a year, then pay whenever you want but buy 10 cards a day and you want to wait as long as poss to get combined shipping. I buy 1991 DS cards from 4SC every so often abd I always wait the full 7 days if there is something else listed I want to get combined shipping on.
I've mentioned before that I'm solely a buyer, and I may or may not have mentioned that I almost always use USPS money orders. I always look to see what any seller's policy is and ask ahead of time if it's not listed.
I concentrate on BIN stuff in people's stores and I also usually plan my purchases out well ahead of time, so I wind up having to calculate lead time like this pretty often. I always feel comfortable working within whatever the seller provides as a window (and almost everyone I've asked has been very indulgent with their time frame.) I guess politeness pays off.

My type of buyer.
I either get a check/money order out, or pay by paypal within 48 hours.
Usually just paypal within 48 seconds.

Otherwise, they would not routinely let sellers file NPBs
after 7-days.
99%+ of my buyers pay within an hour of the closing.
I file NPBs after 30-days of no contact. Rarely happens.

If I dont pay for a card within 1 business day, I dont like to pay on weekends, I feel bad.
I think communiation is paramount, if your going to take a week, let them know.
I dont sell much, I dont know how you guys that do sell alot can do it, I just cant handle all the crap you have to put up with

For no communication, I would expect payment within 15 days.
File non paying bidder alert on the 16th day.
My expectations are reasonable I guess.

Agreed. And if I've heard from them at some point I give it a month, provided their feedback is over 100 or so.
