I just received a 2nd chance offer (in my eBay messages) minutes after the auction ended.....

The reserve on the original auction was not met and the seller wants to sell it to me as the 3rd highest bidder (again minutes after the auction ended)?

Feedback isn't bad, even though he's virtually only a buyer. I wouldn't do it based solely on the fact that he doesn't take PayPal but that's just me.
I don't think you were shilled. The two bidders ahead of you don't seem like shills to me.
