best spot for parking at wrigley?

i am going to tomorrow's game vs reds and have never been before, can't wait to enjoy the experience (and if history holds true), prolly watch reds win, but i hope cubs win.

any advice on finding decent or rock-n-roll parking is helpful!

Park outside the city and take the train in. All part of the experience.
Wrigley is the coolest old stadium I've been to, and can't wait to go again. Get there early and bar hop around the park.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

An hour before the game you can usually park for free right on Addison (or a close side street). Anything east of Damen is pretty good, but you probably won't find anything east of Southport. Nice enjoyable stroll on game day.

Wrigley rocks, but parking's a bear. As far as the train, allow a little extra time, as they're moving, but slowly through construction zones on red and brown lines - particularly on Sundays. Have fun!

  • I can't believe so many people here love Wrigley. It's a dump: small concourses, terrible bathrooms, awful food, uncomfortable seats, small aisles, falling concrete, bad sightlines, scoreboard is awful. Aside from all of that, most importantly, the team sucks. Get on a train and go about 7 miles south to see some real baseball.

Boston is only 7 miles south of Wrigley?

Yeah, great food. Lousy area, ambiance and fans. William Ligue is par for the course there.

This is one of the most ignorant comments I have read in a long time. It is a baseball Mecca. Just because you are a typical southside Cub basher doesn't mean you should not respect the history of the game, Wrigley embodies baseball.

I would have to concur with zef. Lots of crystal meth vendors there to help you forget when your "clutch" outfielder lets the winning run in by allowing the ball to carom off his melon in the outfield. White sox baseball - priceless! image

    Food's good tho. image

What can ya do zef? Some people are white sox fans. Convincing them of the error of their ways is like getting mad at an elephant for having a long nose.

However - some elephants are smarter than others. image

they friggin painted the seats green in new commiskey to bring back old flavor.

i think they left like 2 seats blue for some pennant related tribute or something...

thanks all, i will be drinking heavily and hopefully my wife will b ok.

  • Cumberland and the Kennedy. Just east of Ohare. Parking just south of the Kennedy. Take the train to Addison. From there, take the bus to Wrigley. You won't be sorry. Cheap too.

If any of you Chicago guys are interested, I've got 4 great seats for the cubs game this Tuesday (the 17th - front row of upper deck box @ 3rd base - sec. 409). Face is $17 apiece, but I'd take less - hate to see them wasted - can be picked up on the N/W side (Harlem & Northwest highway area).

Avoid parking near Wrigley unless you are willing to be early and pay the bucks. Public transportation is the best bet. One of the best parts of going to the Cubbies game is the fun you have after the game. Alot of the paid parking you dont have alot of time after the game to celebrate. There is a time limit. But if you use public tranportation you have all day and night. Have fun!

    GO CUBS!!!

If you are going to drive and want street parking, I would suggest taking Southport(1400W) 2 blocks north of Addison(3600N) to Grace(3800N). Go east on Grace and you chould find some street parking there and you will only be about 4 blocks from Wrigley. To get to the Field walk east down Grace and take a right on Clark.

The seats were completely removed and replaced with more comfortable decorative seats that happen to be dark green. They look and feel really nice.

Where Konerko's grandslam and Podsednik's walkoff homer landed in Game 2 of the World Series. Pretty big moment in White Sox and Chicago sports history. Not just some "pennant tribute or something."

There are some parking lots within a couple of blocks of Wrigley but you should plan on getting to them at least a couple of hours before the game. Fortunately when I go I get free parking with the hotel.

    Have fun!
  • Behind the third base dugout. About three rows up.
  • Get on a train and go about 7 miles south to see some real baseball.

Enjoy your trip to the South Side!

    zef you are the man.

i followed your parking guide and was smooth like butter baby!

great weather & pitcher's duel, however cubs still lost. they had a really good chance to tie the game, however soriano was held at third w/ 0 outs. the cubs subsequently never got him home...

indeed, the 2 beer limit is a drag, but it's hella expensive to drink at sporting events anyway.

whoever said wrigley was a shanty stadium is a damb fool. been to games in Atlanta, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Houston and Wrigely is BY FAR the best experience i've had. they said wrigley is only field still in existence that #42 played at, that's pretty heavy. further, the highest attendance game (ere fire codes no doubt) was #42's first game there, some 42k people at wrigley!
