I checked the Baseball Encyclopaedia and didn't see any record of any Alfred E. Newman ever playing in the Major Leagues. I think this card might be a fake.

I think you are looking in the wrong catalog.

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Funny that PSA would really do that. The cert number actually comes back as a 1989 UD Sheffield rookie.

This great card is up to $350. No telling where it will finish.

On a more humorous note , Lot # 1438 is for a 1980 Ted Kennedy , teddy bear. I wonder if it comes with driving instructions. I wonder even more , if it has swimming lessons or instructions , incase you're out late with a drunk driver that can't stay on the road near bridges.

Oh well .I guess I expect too much in life.

Maybe it doubles as a floatation device.
