anyone use photoshop to scan and crop cards?

i want to have a black background when i scan with the lid open, but right now it just gives me a gray colored background..

  • Pretty easy to crop your pics and change the background color using photoshop I do it all the time, or you can just use a piece of black construction paper when you scan.

    Grey?? Oh yeah that is from all the smoke in the room, try black felt between the card and the scanner lid, or make sure the lava lamp is off and it is completely dark

    Key photoshop advice:
    Know your layers.

    Also, use the magic wand tool to select the card, then go to Select -> Inverse. That selects the area outside of the card. Fill with bucket or do whatever.
  • Photoshop is good for more than just cropping.
