I need advice on old baseball card set building!!

I haven't posted on this board (or any message board) but once, and that was many months ago. I just semi-retired (age 55) and am getting back into the baseball card hobby. I have complete sets of Topps, 1954-73, mostly in about VG condition. There are a number of bad cards (miscuts, bad creases, writing, etc.), mostly commons, in each set that need to be replaced. In order to increase the values of the sets, should I replace the cards? It will cost me a couple of thousand dollars. I can handle the cost. If I decide to replace the bad cards, should I patiently buy a little at a time on eBay, or should I buy from someone like Bill Henderson, who is known as the "King of Commons"? Any advice, good or bad, would be appreciated!! judgebuck

Post a wantlist here first on the BST board and you will be amazed at the number of cards coming your way at decent prices from a variety of people. Bill Henderson , and others, will fill your wantlists as well, and probably faster, but at a price. This is a good place to hang out. Just my .02.
