The godforsaken craptchas are not letting me send any PMs of any length- it asks for the code, I put in the code, and it dumps all my data, saying I've "passed a string" 
But weirdly, I've found when it does that, I can put the PM in an old recycled Testing Forum thread and send a link to it.
Go figure. The forums sure are quirky. Those fargin' craptchas make me wanna knife somebody.
Soo anyway, to resume the conversation...

Hospitality sho' 'nuf IS my career, 26 years later! But his real subtext ("you don't make enough money to marry my daughter") still stands true.
Just as well. She went on and married a German guy who took HER last name (which must've made Daddy proud), and they divorced a short time later. Then she married an older man who was a friend of Daddy's and a successful businessman. Happily ever after, as far as I know.
I'm just glad I didn't marry her now, speaking of "princess syndrome". I failed at marriage on my first try a short while after that, and fatherhood, too (my 24 year old son is a virtual stranger), but got it right the second time around.
Gimme a sweet unpretentious country girl from "Jes' up the road" (Jesup, GA) over a daddy's princess any day.
Having a daughter has worked out better than having a son did for me, too.
Speaking of daughters, how's your little one? No doubt causing all kinds of mayhem by now.
