I went through this last year with my # 1 pick ( Texeira ) But can the Cards score many runs? Rolen and Edmonds are his protection and Eckstein leading off?
What do you think? I would love to hear from Skinpinch on this matter?

I think that's the first time he's ever been speechless
People have short memories, and ride with their emotions. You will never get full value for a guy who is batting .176, NEVER. For some reason people are swayed by seeing an early April .176 average(even if it is from Pujols), and they get turned off a bit by it.
In that essence, don't get turned off yourself by him. You probably wouldn't be worried if he was off to a .350 start with 5 HR. Remember, as hot a start as Arod is off to, he is still only Five home runs ahead of Pujols. I never get worried about established stars with bad April numbers(unless they are getting old or are hurt). Sure, it is possible he has numbers less than last years, but they still will be close.
Trading? If you have a surplus in power and have a viable option at 1B, and you feel you can upgrade your team by trading him, then fine...BUT don't even offer his name as trade mention UNTIL he gets a little hot streak. You will get better offers.
I have Podsednik who I don't need at all(and got in the 15th round). He will be traded, but I won't even mention him until his steals add up and you see his name near the top of the leaderboard.
I wouldn't be surprised if an owner in your league is thinking of low balling you on Pujols thinking you are worried.
Teixeira was coming off a season of 144 RBI, and I would have risked my house in a bet that he would not repeat that, or even come close. He went 44/144 in '05...HUGE. In '04 he was 38/112. Last year he was 33/110. It wasn't so much Teixeira becoming bad, but more of him coming back to his true level(and a bit below). Pujols has a much better established level of performance to give a little more hope.
<< <i>Pujols simply sucks. =P >>
Yep, he's a terrible ball player.

They noticed that too
Only joking... Don't get your panties in a bunch...
Or am I?!?!?
