I bought a pretty cool book today

It's called the "Muntboek Bevattende De Namen en Afbeeldingen Van Munten, Geslagen in de Zeven Voormalig Vereenigde Nederladsche Provincien" by P. Verkade. I am told that it is a reprint of a book
published in 1848. Unfortunately, it's in Dutch, so I can't read any of it.

I bought it because it has 228 pages of line drawings of Netherlands provincial coinage in the back and I thought they looked cool:

If you take the time to just look at the words, you'll soon find that you can understand the majority of them. While it may be difficult to really read and understand a written foreign language without a great deal of study, learning just the numismatic terminology is not that difficult. If you try, you'll be surprised at how easy it actually is.

  • I would be able to read it if I had the book in front of me. image
