Drew Bledsoe retires

just heard it on the late local news. but i'm sure many of u were already aware. a very affable guy, i wonder if canton will come calling. if mo lewis never made that hit on him in '01 that knocked him out of the game (and many subsequent ones), i wonder if he would still be the patriots 35 year old #1 qb, and if tom brady would be a backup somewhere else. anyhoo, any thoughts on whether he'll be enshrined in the HOF someday (or does jim rice have a better chance to go to cooperstown???!!!)
always looking for 1958 and 1959 topps baseball in psa 7 and 8

Not a chance he gets into the HOF, in my opinion

Ask Jason, the moment he announced his retirement, he had a spreadsheet on him and started shopping for his psa 10 RC

Nice guy, I've actually shot pool with him here in Portland, a good friend of mines bra ended up in his car somehow.

I vote no. Close but no cigar

He's got a lot of passing yards, but I'd say no also. Too bad. He did a lot to take the Patriots out of the cellar in the 90's. I think NE owes him a little appreciation for that. His only knock is that he never took the team to the top and was surplanted from his role by his backup (twice if you count Dallas). I'm sure he views his one Superbowl ring with a little bit of disatisfication as he got it while sitting on the bench.

Bledsoe was good but not going to make it to the HOF.
  • good, but not great,
    immobile; big target for sacks.
got to the superbowl and lost...

lost his job... and his team WON the superbowl image
    go figure

    no HOF for DRew.

Three times if you count Buffalo and J.P. Losman.

Very good, above average quarterback........but not a HOFer in my opinion.

    He won't make the HOF.

He needed a Super Bowl ring, or at least one more dominant season. He was never the same after Brady replaced him, and much like Kurt Warner, will be remembered as much for his bad seasons as he will for his good ones. If he could have went out on top like say Jerome Bettis did, he might have had a shot. At this point, he is Vinny Testaverde and David Krieg Jr. Lots of stats, but they weren't significant ones.

As a Seahawk fan, I dont appreciate Bledsoe being lumped in the same category with Kreig.

Dave Kreig has at least double the fumbles that Drew Bledsoe has.

LOL...Well, I meant this to mean guys who retired with big time numbers but never won anything and were never considered dominant....Of course I would never want to take away any of Krieg's records...He was the NFL's All-Time leading fumbler for 6 years until Warren Moon eventually earned that fine distinction..Not to mention that Krieg was also the most sacked QB of all-time before Elway took that title..lol

He did end up with 38,000 yards and 261 TDs...But sadly, like Bledsoe and Vinny, he will never sniff the HOF.

  • Great QB for a short while.
Good QB for a long while.
    Good guy forever.
NO shot at the HOF, ever.
  • Another record Warren Moon is still working on currently even though he retired. Most DUI's/DWI's in a lifetime. He probably will start padding his stats on "number of times he beats on women" any day now.

I am truly tired of these guys not being good role models. Moon and Eller are supposed to be "cream of the crop/HOF" representatives for the nfl. Both have multiple DUI's now.

Clean it up gentlemen! Goodell is really trying and I appreciate the effort.

I didnt know that about Moon. Jason, you are indeed a wealth of knowledge. What do you eat for breakfast, because it gets you off to a fast start?

Sadly, both Kreig and Moon played for my Seahawks.

And, I had no idea he wore a wife beater t-shirt. thats sad.
