Post Easter digs...
I wanted to see if my silver streak would continue. And indeed it did!
Silver 50 penniä 1916
About as good condition as a dug coin of this age will get!..
Here only lightly cleaned with soap and water.
This coin is still blazing with luster!
At a slight angle it shows a bit of color, and you can get a better feel for the flash and the details of this piece
The next coin gave a really lousy signal.
I had very low discrimination but the signal still got filtered out, I just heard a short break in the hum.
Trying the spot again, with zero discrimination, I could hear an iffy signal at 7", bouncing all over the place from one direction and showing iron from the other. I'm glad I dug it:
Silver 25 penniä 1902
A good date (207,000 pieces)
That makes it 6 silver coins for April so far
Brooch with female figure skater
Girl Guides membership brooch.
My quick web research suggests that this type was used 1932-1967
Thanks for looking! Happy hunting!

HH,Tom
Hey Tom,
Yes, I've gotten spoiled these last couple of hunts. I only found 4 of these silvers last year, and not a single one in 2005..
Most of these are from a spot I figured out during the winter. I've been in the same general area before, but I found a reason why this particular spot should be better than most others. I think there's still some more there...
The most recent silver coins here are from 1917 (except a few coins with low silver% that I'm not counting), so all the Finnish silvers I find are going to be quite old.
I won't be able to get out next weekend, so now you have a good chance to catch up
Good to see you back!
Nice digs Erik!!
I had a good non-US day also, but I'm too lazy to post tonight.
