What Can You Tell Me About This Coin?

I don;t know anything about this type and especially not value or how to tell a fake. I stumbled on the auction with a minute left and after briefly reading the sob story of the seller decided to resist temptation and not bid. I do like the design though.

It is pretty, but I would not pay much over $10 for it.

Thanks, I had a gut feeling that had I hit the hammer I would regret it.

I have an older (but undated) one I could do for well under ten bucks. Circa late 1680-something to 1700. Louis XIV, the Sun King himself.

Haven't had any takers on this thing. It's probably my wretched scans, done on my old cheapo scanner. Need to reimage a lot of stuff.

I think I was down to eight bucks on this one, but make me an offer I can't refuse. (Actually, I think my eight dollar asking price is pretty reasonable). 'Tisn't as nice as the one you linked to, of course, but still a cool piece, at one-tenth the price.

PS- Ye Dead King might not pay more than ten bucks for the one you saw on the 'bay, but it is worth more than that. Not worth anywhere near what the seller is asking, in my opinion, but I would say worth significantly more than ten bucks... to the right person.
