2007 Royals cellar run.

Well, Alex Gordon is hitting .048, was really hoping he wouldn't get off to that kind of start. Probably has no confidence left at all. Looks like Gil Meche was good for one good outing, will probably get bombed the rest of the year. Same for Perez. Riske is a complete bum, comes in to save a 2-0 lead in the ninth, not only does he blow the save, but the score is 2-3 before there's even one out.

The run for the cellar has been an immediate success this year. I thought it might take them a month or so but this is impressive.

Phillies are just as bad. I'm done with MLB - As of today I'm now folowing those English soccer leagues and rooting for Manchester to beat Liverpool. I think Kent has a good shot this year to win the cup with possibly Worchester giving it a go.

Wow, these Phils fans give up easily, man. The Royals fans I can see, but Philly? True their bullpen is terrible and they can't compete with the Mets, but they have enough talent to compete for the wildcard, IMO. image

I thought Alex Gordon was the next Mic Mantle? I knew I should of sold my stuff before the season.

There is a good quote in Bob Uecker's book about prospects, "He looks just like a young Mickey Mantle, if only he could hit"

The season's a week old. Nothing matters at this point. If Pittsburgh were 7-0 no one would be talking about them going to the World Series. If your team is still playing like a turd at the end of next month, then they're probably a turd.

And if you thought the Royals would finish anything but dead last in the best division in baseball you should pay more attention. image

Ok, I will be the one that says it. Nice homer Gordon.

Nice! I would hate for KCballboy to think I'm optimistic, but the Royals have the potential to suprise some folks. I think if they could just stay close to .500 for the first month they would gain tons of confidence, so these early games are very important, in my opinion. Nice to see Greinke pitch a great game.

Pena Jr. has 4 triples already.image

It's a long season. Even for the Royals, the 2007 cellar run is premature.

I am very optimistic we won't have a totally crappy year.

Seriously, Alex Gordon is pretty good, he should be of great help this year. He was my favorite player last year. In fact he declined to play for Team USA in 2006 because we needed him the Texas League playoffs.

Now if we can stay away from taking of the leagues most promising rookie and destroying it...
