Question about Mailing a lot/starter set of vintage cards

I plan on selling some large lots of vintage cards I have from the early 1960's. I was wondering what is the best way to mail these cards. They are in binders currently. Would it be best to mail the binder or would it be best to mail them in a 200+ ct. container? I just can't imagine that people would put each in a soft sleeve and plastic.
The largest lot I have is from 1962 Topps baseball where I have 639 cards just so you have an idea of how big some of these lots are.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

    Steve,

I usually wrap the sheets (all together) in plastic wrap so the cards don't slide out. I the tape the wrapped sheets between two pieces of heavy cardboard and then wrap that in bubble wrap. Into a big box an then out the door!

  • I stuff bubble wrap in the three ring binders so the pages don't slide and I mail with the binder. Wrap the binder in bubble wrap and use packaging peanuts to keep the binder from sliding around the box.

I'd also take the pages out of the binder. Syran wrap (plastic wrap) works great if you wrap the pages together nice and tight.

  • wondo knows how to ship without worry of damage - i bought a psa lot from him off ebay - it could have been run over by a bus & probably been undamaged

I sent some cards that were not already in pages, and put each one in a penny sleeve. BTW I sent them free(trade) to a board memeber, but he had done the same for me. I would use Wondo's idea and stuff it in a falt rate box, flat rate seems like a deal to me

  • Keep the cards in the binder. Wrap the top of the binder (including the pages) with three vertical pieces of duct tape. Each piece of tape should line up with the top three cards, which should keep the cards from sliding out.
