Anybody every have any success detecting under old clothes lines? Someone had told me that would be a good place. I personally have never found anything looking there but it sounds like it should be.

I've never left coins in a pocket and had them stay through the washing cycle to even make it to the drying phase. Currency yes, but never any coins.
  • Bob, my father and I hunted numerous older homesteads many years ago in Texas. Since my dad was a farmboy before the advent of certain modern conveniences, he was able to teach me what to look for. Clothes lines are good spots to hunt. Look for big trees (or stumps) about 10-15 feet apart that are near what would have been just outside the kitchen area of a house. Most often laundry was done outside in big washtubs and hung out.

Another good place at homesteads is the path from the house to the "post office". The outhouse in other words.

    Good luck.
