Now a Dodger one is cool !! Rare too, cuz in LA with all the growth, concrete is taking over and I hear Dirt is becoming as scarce as clean air. LMK if you want to trade it. Dont have much really though.
I'll pass when they start chopping up jocks, cups, and dirty underwear and socks. >>
I sold a Joe Namath game worn signed jockstrap/cup to some housewife on Long Island 14-15 years ago. The woman wanted it bad.
Sad thing is, I can tell you the history of it: Namath had 'given' it to a female fan he um...met one night back in the late 60's/early early 70's...She approached me at a memorabilia store I had part ownership in. I actually tracked down some of the equipment staff from the Jets from that time and got it verified in writing that it was indeed Joe's jock.
Made a helluva profit on it.
I always wondered if she made her husband wear it or if it just ended up on her mantle.
I feel dirty now.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?
Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

How bout: Game Used Sunflower Seed or better yet Game Used chewing tobacco. It astonishing what they put in cards. I remember the good ol' days when you just got cards and you were happy with that. We thought jersey pieces in cards was wild but then bats, helmets, dirt.... STOP THE CRAZINESS....... Oh, sorry. I feel better.

I dont know, I like the idea ~ adds a nice little bonus to card packs and I think its great to own a piece of something once owned by teh games greats for little to no money. Autos and GU are nice as they are a card with just a little added bonus. I actually collect Indians game used items in full and although I do have a couple cool items like 1st from Opening Day 2002, most of my jerseys, bats, hats etc are from players long since forgotten by the average fan. I like the fact that I have at least a piece of jerseys worn by players I would never be able to get an actual jersey from (ie Feller, Boudreau, Sudden Sam etc) and even non-Tribe greats like my McGwire, Bonds, A-Rod, Jeter, Riken and so many more. I opened a pack the other day and even got a Ted Williams piece and was overjoyed for the rest of the day ~ where a Williams’s base card would only be "pretty cool card". I think they have gone a little overboard and making them for every joe-schmo with a contract is a bit much ~ but I still love um
BillyRip,
You know I would trade it to you instantly ~ but its my only Dirt card... Its one of my three "thats different" cards that I am planning on holding onto ~ sorry! Here are the other two:
The Drew is a chunk of base JD must have been stomping on one day. The Harding is a piece of seat from Griffith Stadium ~ just think of all the asses that sat on my card!
Mail-call today also presented me with one more such item... (and this time its an Indian!!!) It's a 1/1 V-Mart with a piece of Jersey prime, Batting Glove, Chest Protector & Shin Guard. How cool is that; Chest Protector, Shin Guard and Batting Glove!
I know its sick, but you know if they ever did take it to the level of Jock Straps or Socks there are quite a few of us that would cherish the card... sad huh ~ but how disgustingly unique!

I'll give you even more reasons to love him; the write-up on the back:
"Warren Harding loved baseball so much he bought a minor league team. As President he attented four Washinton Senators games, throwing out the first pitch in three. He also cherished his visit to brand new Yankee Stadium on April 24, 1923 when Babe Ruth brough Harding to his feet with a home run"
...I do wonder why they didnt tell us which mior league team it was though...

Thats cool. Thanks. But for $80 I'll go to my backyard and make a card. The boys would never know. Unless.... In 20 years I get a call "Dad, that Dodger Dirt came back fake !!!"
A few years ago they made Sports Illustrated swimsuit cards with sand that came off of the models body as well as pieces of the bikini on the card. I bet they weren't able to make that many cards out of those bikinis.

Multi tool is the packaging, paperclip. I had to call the wife in to check that out. She hates it when I do that
