Indians to host Angels in Milwaukee
CLEVELAND -- After snow wiped out Cleveland's series against Seattle for the fourth day in a row Monday, the Indians moved their next series against the Los Angeles Angels to Milwaukee's Miller Park.
The teams will play a three-game series beginning Tuesday in the ballpark, which unlike Jacobs Field, has a retractable roof. The opener and Wednesday's game will be played at 7:05 p.m. ET, with Thursday's scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
The Indians, who had their home opener last Friday called after four innings, will try to get their first game at Jacobs Field in on Friday when they open a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox.
While snow stopped falling Monday, the grounds crew was unable to get the surface in shape after three days of snow. Faced with a forecast for sleeting rain, snow flurries and a projected high of 34 degrees, the Indians postponed their rescheduled doubleheader against the Mariners.
On Sunday, baseball officials considering moving the Angels' series to Anaheim., Calif., but then decided on the switch to Milwaukee. Indians players packed for the trip at midday.
A storm left more than a foot of snow in some places in the Cleveland area, and the entire four-game series against Seattle will have to be played at later dates. It was the first time an entire series of more than two games was postponed by weather since Hurricane Frances put off the Chicago Cubs' at Florida Marlins set from Sept. 3-5, 2004, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Seattle plays Tuesday at Boston.
After Friday's game was called, the teams hoped to play a day-night doubleheader Saturday, but that was put off by the spring storm. They then scheduled a doubleheader for Sunday, which also was postponed. With time on their hands, Seattle players at Jacobs Field made snow angels.

So my question is this...will Charlie Sheen be in attendance and throw out the first pitch? As a local Millerwaukeean, I can't wait to see the Indians play the Angels this week. Now I just need to figure out how to get tickets.

Kirby Puckett Master Set
What an odd situation
<< <i>Anyone know if it is first come first serve for the games in Milwaukee...curious to see how they handle ticketing for this series.
What an odd situation >>
That's *awesome* for the fans if they do. I went to a similar Brewers-Astros double header a few years ago, and it was great. $8 bought us seats in the second row directly behind the plate. (from which I heckled the sh_t out of Jose Hernandez (back when he was really bad). There were so few fans he could hear me without question. Ironically, I think he hit a walk-off homer that game, and he made a negative gesture of some sort to the hometown fans, who were then on their feet cheering him (as was I).
Awesome day at the park. (I'm searching retrosheet for the boxscore, if only to check my own memory of the game...)
If it is first-come, first-served, it's well worth burning a vacation day.
Where I understand there are always going to be games in areas which may suffer bad weather and in turn called games, the problem comes in the teams they scheduled to play there. Seattle and Anaheim make exactly 1 trip to Cleveland ~ the first series at the Jake where there is the worst chance of bad weather... Couldnt someone foresee a possible problem here??? If its Min or Chi it wouldnt be a huge deal, miss a game or two and just schd a double header later in the year, but nope ~ we instead have to deal with moving to Mil for the Ana series and who knows what will happen with the Sea game... If it was KC or Det in town on Wed there would be no need to be playing in Mil, we could just swap a home series for a rod one and call it a day, but nope ~ instead we will pack our bags and play a last min game where we will more than likely pull in about 2 thousand people to watch.
And whats even worse? Oh yeah ~ Paul Byrd missing out on an "abbreviated" No-Hitter by... ONE PITCH! Come one, you couldnt let the game go 5 more mins and get it on the book? If you are that close wouldnt MLB want to at least get it on record? And I'm not saying this as an Indians fan, even if we were the ones getting no-hit I would be saying the same ~ we played it and it should count! I understand of course that the players couldnt see, but its not like it was exactly easy to see 5 minutes before that... Its one more hitter, big deal lets just get it over with and on the books.
Best of all? In this game which didnt take place Victor Martinez gets hurt...
Oh well, I guess the 6K or so people who will see the series in Mil will have fun...
