I am at two weeks as well without being logged in. I agree it is very frustrating.

Joe Orlando was on the boards looking for graders and there are reports of them being extremly backed up. I wonder if they have grown too fast w/o planning for it or if the other graders volumes have switched to PSA and it has caused this issue. Either way it happened this is the worst scenario for a growing buisness, people wanting your services but you are can't get them product or service in a resonable time frame. I have seen it happen with many growing companies, the get one big account and it overwhelms them.

What did they say when you requested they send them back to you?

Did you ask them to try and get them logged in? I had a similar problem and it took a few days for them to correct it, but it did get corrected.

If your box was marked clearly with the service level and it wasn't on the "problem shelf", 2 weeks is ridiculous time frame. I would have made a phone call asking to have it resolved first though.

I sent my order in on the 29th, they received it and logged it in on the 4th. My CC was charged on the 6th. Guess I got lucky.

Here is how I have seen it work fastest. If you have all of the same year (i.e. 1972 Topps football) Your cards will get graded quickly. If you send in a bunch of Random crap like I do with Brett Favre. Expect it to take awhile. Think of it, all of one year is easy for a grader to do. Many different years and brands they have to do a lot of looking up for verification etc.

I look at grading similar to ordering custom made parts for my Harley that I don't own. You have/want something unique (Favre Master Set - Custom Chopper) it will take awhile. You have something standard (1972 Topps - Standard Screaming Eagles) you should get it faster.

Am I off base or does this sound right?

I often send my orders in via FedEx.

They are always logged in within 24 hours of receipt.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

This is the first time mine has not been entered in 24 hours of receipt. They must be choking right now due to lack of resources.

I just sent in 18 cards, 13 were different. Logged in within 3 days of me mailing them.

We shall see how long it takes to get them graded, but Im a patient man. Just doing a little experiment on cross grading.

I had sent in a bunch of SGC, Gem, etc slabbed cards, all of them came back. I cracked them during the Florida game, I had alot of down time, sent them in. I saved all of the stickers they sent, and the old labels, etc. Kind of curious to see just how prejudiced they are for their competitors

This sounds right on the money. I sent in an order for the March special which was 1967 to current Baseball. Most of my order was from '67-90. All mainstream issues. Pretty much no brain work required to verifing these issues. My order took close to two weeks to get logged, but once it logged it was graded and shipped back to me in a week. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones too.

I can't even imagine trying to grade or verify an order consisting of a hodge podge of modern inserts from issues I would not have a clue about. I'm sure this is what's holding up many orders from being logged and graded timely.

Some dumbass (me) forgot to seperate the tall boys from the regular sized cards.

You would think I would have learned by now.

Though I wish they would log them quicker so then we can "know" they arrived safely I try to not worry about the time of them being logged in, graded or shipped back. It's all part of the process to me. I enjoy the anticipation of receiving the grades. Overall, I enjoy the whole process way too much to stop sending cards in for grading. It seems like the only person you hurt is yourself by asking PSA to send your cards back!? I don't think CU's stock price is going to deep because a few people ask for their cards to be returned. I think I will quote one of the most popular songs of about 1984... "relax, don't do it."

I send stuff to SGC and get it back in 20 days. Sounds like you guys need to light a fire under someone's tail at PSA to get your stuff back sooner.

Depends on the market, the card, the grade, the time of sale.........too many factors involved to make that generalized statement. SGC often times outsells PSA and vice versa.

Another example of PSA/CU's psychotic business model. Simply unbelievable!

I'm sure if we actually saw how hard they are working, we wouldn't be so quick to hate on them. It takes time to have the most prestigious name in the grading business. To me, it's worth the wait.

    Patience grasshopper.

Unless you paid extra for the fast guaranteed service. But if you are doing the special, then that is a long line.

It is a strange model. Although when they set it up I bet they didn't anticipate threads like this appearing on their boards, and if it wasn't for these kinds of threads there would be no complaints, since nobody would know that their order had been arbitrarily bumped behind other orders that arrived more recently.

Who knows? Maybe it would take some kind of massive restructuring to change things. I have no feel for what goes on down there. One thing I will say, though, is that so long as there is no systematic bias against one order being put behind another (i.e., on average everyone's orders are graded in the same time frame) then it's silly to complain.
