Scored a HOFer tonight

Me my dad, my girlfriend, and little brother all went to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs. Toronto Blue Jays game tonight. We got there about an hour and a half early and me and my girlfriend are walking around the stadium. We turn one corner and bam.... Fergie Jenkins is sitting at a table with photos and baseballs spread out across the table. She had noo idea who he was but I just about died when I unexpectedly saw the HOFer with basically no one asking for his autograph. I think many people didn't realize whoe he was.

The deal was $20 for signed photos (signed name with hof 91), $40 for signed baseballs with same inscription (for an extra $10 he added 71 cy young to the hof inscription), $100 got you a Wrigley Field chairback with a list of accomplishments on it and his sig. All of the money went to the Ted Williams children's foundation.

I got the photo. I'm so pumped about it, it's my first HOFer.

I know this is turning into an essay, but I also later won a Tampa Bay Rays inagural game program from March 31,1998. Pretty good night at the park.

A greivously underrated Pitcher. Only man ever to have 3000+ K's and less than 1000 BBs (unless someone has since equalled that and I don't believe thay have.)

Good stuff for a good cause. Thanks for sharing this image

Fergie's prices must go up during the regular season or at MLB parks. Picked up a signed MLB ball with "HOF '91" inscription for $35 at a Phils - Twins Spring Training game last month in Ft. Myers.
Ron LeFlore was with him too. I was wearing a throwback Montreal Monarchs Clemente minor league jersey and LeFlore yelled out "Hey Montreal!" as I walked by. We had a nice chat.
Fergie's manager offered to trade a signed ball for my jersey. I declined and bought one instead.

You arent kidding about the "Grievously underrated pitcher" part! 7 20 Win seasons (including 6 in a row between 67-72) and 3 of them came for .500 or worse teams! Included in that is a 25-12 mark for a Tex team that went 79-81 (ie, he had nearly 1/3 of the teams wins!!!)

I love Fergie, got to meet him myself a few years back and great guy. Nice catch there, wonderful auto to add to any collection.

HAPPY EASTER ALL!!! May you and yours be blessed on this wonderful day!

Nice. The first autograph I ever got was of Phil Rizzuto back when I was like 10 or 11 years old. I remember wearing my Rizzuto Yankees Jersey (which was HUGE on me at the time but now fits nicely and I'm amazed I still have it 15 years later) and how Phil was laughing and seemed happy as all hell that a young kid was wearing a Jersey with his number on it. I remember he talked to the organizer for a bit and in classic Rizzuto fashion said "Hey Jimmy, take a look at this kid here wearing Number 10." He was a really nice guy. Later on he gets inducted into the HOF and my first auto ever is of a HOFer.

Easily you can edit it with paint ~ go to the "Image" tab, then "Stretch/Skew" and select the % you would like the image to be (ie type 40% in both Hor and Vert fields).
