Okay, okay so they only won one game, but it sure partially feels like winning a pennant today. LOL

<< <i>Steve, did you get into the Wild Turkey again? Take it from me--booze and the CU boards do not mix well at any point east of midnight. >>
Yes, it also included a couple six-packs while watching old VHS tapes of the Phillies winning the 1980 World Series. LOL

Woo-Hoo
must be nice playing in a division with the modern equivalent of the '62 Mets
Oh well...I'm not going to have a heart attack over this anymore...if we're out of it by the All Star break then I can better focus on the Eagles.
I'm surprised at how poorly the Phils have come out of the gate. I think they're a better team than this, though the bullpen is their Achilles heel, IMO. Maybe a manager with a little more fire than Manuel would be helpful, too.

IMO .... it is almost makes no sense to judge ANY team until Memorial Day Weekend. THAT has always been the first real marker for looking at any teams performance. The 4-0 Mets and 1-3 Phillies can oh so easily be the 5-9 Mets and 7-4 Philles a week or so from now.

If the Phillies don't score 12 runs a game, the pitching will lose every game for them. Im glad that the Phils made some off-season moves
to shore up the pen. What Jesse Orosco wasn't available?

Dan,
Don't even go there!

The Mets look STRONG. I'm just saying that Memorial Day weekend is like the first furlong These streaks that happen in April normally don't get as much attention if they happen say in late May, June, July, etc. Thats all I'm sayin
ITS A LONG SEASON and thank goodness for THAT!

True that. I remember a few years back when the Royals had that great start to the regular season for about a month or so. It was almost like you could sense them wishing the season would end right there and then!

Should you change the title of this thread to: Phillies win a game! Phillies win a game! ?

Not a bad idea. And now they bring in this guy Francisco Rosario who no doubt in my mind can't pitch. I mean he can't pitch or the Blue Jays would never have given a guy up like this. Pathetic and it just gets more pathetic by the day.
