1991 Wild Card Master Set

An old friend of mine named Dave Carbonetti of Rhode Island built a "master set" of 1991 Wild Card football, or, in other words, sets of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 1000 stripes each; he opened many cases to do this. He has since passed away, and I am trying to get it ready to put the set on eBay. In the 90s, there was an article in SCD about Dave's "master set" and how it is the only one in existence, so I am trying to track down the story. I used to have all of my back issues of SCD, but I had to throw them out when I was forced to move my store last year. I tried calling SCD to see if they could locate the article for me, but they said that issues that old are not stored on their computers, so they would not be able to find it. Does anyone have back issues of SCD which may contain this article, or know of someone or some source where I could find the article I am looking for so that I can include it in my auction description? Thanks.

  • Not to go off topic on you, but...

Will you be selling this as one master set, set lots, or breaking it up, pulling the stars, and selling those individually?

I ask because I am interested in the Favre 5, 50, and 100 cards.
I will pay absolute top dollar for those cards if the condition is mint or better.

Just curious, and wondering when and where I should keep an open eye...

I haven't decided how I am going to sell the master set, but I want to try to find the SCD article first.

In addition to the master set, Dave also had some extra cards, which include a 5 and a 50 stripe Favre cards, which I currently have on eBay (auction #s 170098598551 and 170097954161).
