1996 Babe Ruth Card

Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum, but have been watching from the halls for quite some time .
A few weeks ago my son purchased a Babe Ruth card that I just can not find in any Beckett or on the internet anywhere for that matter and I was wondering if anyone here might know anything about it .
The card was cheap, I think he paid about 10 dollars for it .
It is a Silver Card .999 Silver it says on the bottom left hand corner .
1996 Edition , Serial # 005480 .
On the other side of the card it says Gold Performance .
But that is about it , besides The Babes Lifetime statistics .
No name of the card company, No Company logo or anything ?
If I can dig up my digital camera , I will take a picture because I'm sure that will help, as soon as I learn how to
But if anyone would know right off the tops of their heads, I'm sure someone here would know .
This has to be the most amazing forum around .
My son and I love collecting Memorabilia cards and autographed baseballs Mostly.
he just turned 8 years old and i just handed over all of my old stuff to get him started and he is just loving this hobby .
He is just like me in the way , he loves to rip those packs open .
He would also rather do the baseball grab bag at one of our local memorabilia shops , than know what he is getting , like buying one off the shelf,I think it's the surprise he enjoys more than anything .
The not knowing what he is going to get .
Thanks for being here .
And thank you for any help you might extend to us .

But nothing ??
I'm just stunned I can't find out anything about this card, I know it's not worth much, but it still would be nice to know what it is and to see what others look like .
A scan/picture would help.

Yea, I'm going to get a pic up as soon as I find my cam . .
It is around here somewhere .
I just got to dig it up .
I think it might be something from maybe one of those danbury mint type things , but even there I couldn't find it .
I'm gonna start diggin right now .
This is a picture of a Nolan Ryan card similar to what you are describing. Does it look like this? Is it fairly heavy, about 3 oz in weight and in a plastic case?

was thinking about me and sent me this card. This is the only card
I display on my trophy shelf. No value can be put on it. Joe

This is a picture of the back of the Nolan Ryan card. This card is from the ENVIROMINT company.
Hope this helps...Donato

No it's not like that , this card is sterling silver .
It is a lot like the card 2dueces has posted a pic of .
Only his is gold .
I have taken some pics of the card just now , but because it is silver , I am having a hard time getting the glare out of the shot, it is getting too much light . . . I'll figure something out and I will have a pic posted soon though.
I'm on the job !
Thank you for your help though Divecchia .
The card is similar only on the front of my card it has babe Ruth pictured twice and also on the back .
you see 3 baseball bats in his hand as if here were swinging it when they took the picture .
On the bottom right hand corner of the card there are scales.
{Kinda like The Scales of Justice } and it says Gold Performance above and below the scales .
As I just posted , I'm just havin a lil problem with taking the shot of the card because of the reflection . . . And Ehhh hem . . .the cruddy camera
I did practice , so lets see how it goes . .
The pics aren't that great , I even tried 3 different cameras and these are the best I could get .
