...........to rip open your spotted uncs or proofs from the mint and give 'em an acetone bath? it's disgusting to me to see these, once beautiful examples, bought in the past, turn like this from the mint. anyone agree?

I totally agree but acetone wont help. Once the spots appear, they are there for good provided you are referring to milk spots which I assume you are.

I've got two 1996 Silver Eagles graded 67 and 68 due to these nasty spots.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Yup, the real challenge is to find a 1996 w/o milk spots. Those are the ones that go for the high dollar.

All my UNC ASE's are in thier original rolls and I have never seen any of them except the one side facing up at the top of the roll. I have not noticed any milk spots on these, but I have noticed a few that look like they have carbon spots on them.

Anyone else seen this, they are pin head size grey spots on the face?

Edited to say: don't try to say pin pric k on the boards it won't let you post the word pric k!
