As a lifelong Minnesota resident, I am bias towards our homestate teams (Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, etc) and have suffered through some tough losses as a Vikings fan. I was also lucky enough to get to some of the playoff games the 2 years (1987 and 1991) the Twins won the World Series.
After watching some of the first 2 games, I feel the Twins can make some noise this year in the Central Division and possible win it. Yeah, I know it is only 2 games into a 162 game season. However, the Twins have the Cy Young winner, the batting champion and the MVP all in the line up. Throw in players like Tori Hunter and the Twins will be a fun team to watch.
Santana is 16-0 in his last 23 regular-season starts at home since Aug. 1, 2005 (if you don't count his play-off loss to Oakland). I always get a kick out of a team like the Twins, with their low payroll beating the Yankees in the playoffs. I predict that the division will come down to the Twins and the Indians this year.
Any thoughts?

I agree, it was good to see those little guys win that second game against Baltimore. It does not get much better than watching those guys grind out victory after victory. Boof is looking better than last year. The central is going to be ours again I am guessing (and hoping)!!! and just wait until Liriano comes back.

a good team. I have lived here 24 years now, and the same question always seems to come up......how about the pitching?
Granted, there are some great guys on the staff, including Santana, of course, but, talk to me about what you truly
think about the long term pitching.
Thanks,
Tony

I realize the Twins will probaly not be able to sign Santana again so he more than likely will be somewhere else next year. The Twins are full of prospects though, there is Liriano still, Garza is top notch, MN born Glen Perkins, and then our number two starter Boof Bonser was looking pretty good in his one start this year and looked great at the end of the year last year. I do not know what happened to Silva though, that guy was great in 2005, then last year he was scary, and in spring training he was even scarier. I think in three or four years the Twins will be as good as they are now if not better.
One thing on the Twins minds is Morneau, they locked up Mauer which was nice, but Morneau is going to be pricey, so it will probaly come down to Morneau or Santana. Hunter will be gone at the end of this year, I am sure of that. I am expecting a WS championship one of these years.
BOOF!
