Autographed Card Question

Can one of you help me with this one.... Let's say I have a card autographed by a lesser known player. Maybe one that nobody in their right mind would spend $20 to get it put into a PSA holder as authenticated. Let's say I am the ONE guy dumb enough to spend the money. Will they authenticate it? How the heck do they know if it's authentic? What can they compare it to? Or do they just assume anybody dumb enough to send in a valueless card for authentication must have an authentic card?

    Best to do is call customer service and find out how much they'll chage to authenticate it. If they give you a price, I'm sure they have something to compare it to...
    Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?
