Nash

During the game yesterday they said he was the most complete point guard ever. What do people think about that? I never saw the Big O play but he did average a triple double for a season. Thoughts?

  • It's hard to compare him to anybody that played before I started watching (which was about 86), but since then, yes, he is the most complete. Looks like Kobe's going to have to score 50 a game (average) to have a shot at the MVP--Nash is going to go 3 straight it looks.

  • One need to only look at the Suns before he got there, and the year he got there when they won what was it, 62 games?

This year is his best year stat wise, and is on track to win a third MVP.

Nash certainly gets no hobby love. His best rookie card sells for significantly less than Allen Iverson from the same year and just a bit more than Ray Allen or Antoine Walker.

Who called Nash the most complete point guard ever? His defense is weak at best. He is great and certainly ranks with the top 5 or 10 point guards ever but does most complete not include defense?
  • If it was simply about numbers and best player, Jordan would have won it every year he played.

Taking Nash away from the Suns and they turn into a sub .500 team...hence the word 'value' in the award.
  • Listen if we are going to debate who the greatest point guard who has ever played we can stop. Without question it was Magic Johnson.

That said, if Nash can win a title or two he becomes top 3 - he is already top 6 right now.

What he does for that team cannot be quantified in numbers, he is a conductor like no other.

Enjoy him now b/c you will not see one like for some time.
