Twins announcer Herb Carneal passes away

Long time Mn. Twins announcer Herb Carneal passed away today. Forty one years of announcing Twins games is a long time. I will never forget his voice, on my mom's radio growing up and even last season driving in my car listening to the Twin's games.

One thing I will remember the most is when the Twins won the WS in 1987 and his legendary "Twins win, Twins win". Truly the face of the Twins.

    Sad day for baseball.

They replayed his call of the end of the '91 WS today on WFAN. Being from NY I didnt have much exposure to him but could tell from that one clip what a great broadcaster he was and the enthusiasm he brought to the game.

Herb was great! MN memories abound when thinking of his voice calling the games. He did it since 1962 & is in the BB HOF
    Enjoy your collection!

Same here! He will be missed as I use to listen to him on the radio more than I watched the game on TV. Actually, I grow up close to where the old Met Stadium was (now the Mall of America) and still miss seeing those "outside" games.
