who says one game can't make a whole career?
1969 Namath
What if the Jets would not have drafted him and he would have ended up in the NFL with Bill Bidwell's normal 4-9-1 St. Louis Cardinals?
There were so many better quarterbacks that never will get a sniff at the HOF. One upset, play in New York and have a swagger and the world can be yours.

I do agree the card asking price is insane though.
Jon, you watching??
perhaps from a social aspect where the afl was ready not to merge if the jets got blown out in SB III.

In fact, some would speculate, that if he had not burst onto
the scene already a legend, BB would have remained the
more popular sport for many more years. He captured folks'
imaginations and brought millions of new fans to FB.
All of that has value and must be considered part of the HOF
package.

the much copied "guarantee" in sports was his ticket in. again if it is colts 28 jets 10 in that game he crawls back in his hole, never winning another playoff game, and he doesn't get the cameo on the brady bunch, let alone the waverly wonders.

whether he is an alcoholic 25 years after his playing days has no bearing on what he did in his playing days.

<< <i>Loaded Namath trying to kiss Suzie Kolber is the greatest moment in the history of television. For that alone, Namath should be in the hall.

That was one of the funniest, yet at the same time saddest, things I have ever seen on TV. The silence and stunned look on everybody's face has yet to be eclipsed in a sporting event. Sad? Certainly. Outrageously funny? You bet.
As for the PR thing, I've yet to see Tony LaRussa or Dontrelle Willis check themselves in yet.
