Just back from the Bay State Show

It's a 500 mile round trip for me but it's the best show I can get to during the year. I picked up my good friend "Babe" Binette and we headed south. We arrive in Boston and are talking coins as usual which causes me to miss a turn every time we come here. Thanks to his GPS gadget we are never lost. We make it to the show and before we get out of the car he shows me a Fine 1809 Large Cent that he picked up in Baltimore. It's brown and smooth the way I like them and I buy it on the spot. At the bourse we go our separate ways meeting up occasionally throughout the day. My first stop was at Andy Seminerio's table. A really nice guy that I look forward to seeing. He always has an impressive selection of gold. I picked up a killer 1852 $1 gold PCGS MS-63. My next purchase came from Tom Reynold's. An impressive array of copper if there ever was one. Tom and I swapped stories for about 15 minutes or so. Another one of the hobbies really nice guys. I picked up an 1813 Large Cent in VF-30 an 1838 Large Cent in MS-63 (formally PCGS MS-64) and an 1843 Large Cent in XF45.
I think it took me about 2 hours to finally look up to see what the crowd was like. To me it seemed rather thin. A little strange for this show on a Friday. Oh well, more coins for me. I finally got meet Ernie from EBW Coin. A really nice and friendly guy. I've got to buy a coin from him one of these days.
I caught a glimpse of MrHalfDime at a table engrossed in some coins. (Half Dimes I think, Ha Ha) I met cape (from the Forum), his knowledge of coins was impressive and was a genuinely nice guy to talk to. After only a few minutes with him I almost felt like we were old friends. Cape had a really nice selection of coins. Unfortunately, I had to pass on some Bust Halves that I'd really love to own, because I had already spent my coin allowance. IGWT also stops by about this time and I learn that he is also from Maine. All the old familiar dealers were there and I made the rounds more than once before calling it a day.
I'd post some pictures but it's late and has been a long day. Maybe tomorrow.
