Cinderella story.
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!
I mean PSA may have their Gem Mint 10, and SGC has their snooty 100 Pristine but no one gives out their top mark more carefully than this company. And they have graded 2000 cards to boot. So what that PSA has graded 9 million. Much like the Harlem Globetrotters who never lost a game, GRA is perfect with never giving a grade less than a 10.
1966 Jim Palmer Rookie ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS
Do a google search and you get this comment about GRA:
Graded Rookies Authenticated-(GRA)- This company is a guy who grades the cards himself and assigns a ten to them to try to garner higher market prices. Trust me when I say he gives them a 10. I will give a $100 dollars to anyone that can find a graded card by this company that is anything other than a 10. To top it off the cards are not encazpsulated but put in a screwdown holder. This guy is shady
This card is BSS graded MINT 9....because Bruce Says So !!!
<< <i>Along with Beckett and PSA, GRA has established itself as an industry leader in the grading of premium quality sportscards. >>
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. The old red flips from SCD are usually well graded cards while the new SCD seems to be a paradise for junk
I think their standards were a bit off when they started as well.
Many people think this is a different company but it's SGC.
<< <i>How could you ever have a list of grading companies without GRA near the top!!???

Looking for Jonny Gomes cards, especially Triple Threads and printing plates. Will consider all cards, though. Got something? Contact me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com

I heard the red logo was a safe bet. Unsure if they sold. I also heard BGS sold and the subgrades on back are similar to red oval situation. With BGS they were hard on my grades (but fair) and I disagreed once with my grades (20 cards sent thruought) but with the subgrades on front I felt they were overgraded. It was like night and day in my experiences.
GEM and AGS make me laugh. Or was it want to yell.
XXX- ...heard they slab some hot cards. Whats crazy about them is their willingness to work with the customer. I walked in a sub and was short $40 and I was able to work it off. Now thats customer satisfaction!
How could you ever have a list of grading companies without GRA near the top!!??? --------My lawyer suggested me not to answer that question. *All I will say is this- no one, I mean no one labels my 1990 Fleer Eric Anthony " New Minty Tip Top Shape 9".

I don't see "PSG", or "Premium Sports Grading". Add it to the list!
This was one of the first Kirby items I bought off eBay back in '05. Research quickly showed me the mistake of buying this type of graded card!
I see the scan picked up what appears to be some kind of stickum around the card to hold it in position within the penny sleeve??!

Far and away the best thing about these slabs is the little bar code on the flip.
Sad thing is, when GRA first came out, I saw a few that looked good, boght them for a possible crossover, sent them in, obviously came back " evid trim". In the meantime I had bought about 6 of these wonder cards, now they are virtually useless. Frustrating that it takes awhile for word to get out

I know what you mean, heres another. OC, has a surface indention line, mispelled Ripken, not a proof but it was my 1st FF version and my favorite. Sorry for the small pic.
I went to their website and it's hilarious. They have a service called grade your own cards You send them your cards and the grade you want, and they "do the rest".

Crazy thing is, one time I bought a card in one of those GEM 10 holders for $10. Sent it to PSA and came back a PSA 9 and sold for $100. That was pretty cool. It was a 1984 Topps NFL Star Set Dan Marino.

Wow that is crazy. Wasnt the Marino counterfitted alot ?? I think it was that card. You got real lucky.
Once I bought a Mantle graded GEM 1 just because I never saw a GEM 1, but the pic was blurry and when rec'd it was really a GEM 10 but they scratched off the 0. Oh well. lol

After you've tried the rest, now choose the BEST!
And wow! Someone had a piece of our handywork!!!
Once I was in bed thinking about getting a GEM 10 Mantle and 3 days later what do I find in my mail? A GEM10 Mantle !!! Sure, once I opened my eyes I saw it had bullet holes in it and I could easily see they erased the word reprint for me, but hey, they tried. I heard the Salvation Army/Goodwill is mad at GEM for stealing their employees to be graders.
who was the schmuck selling newspaper clippings as graded on ebay??
<< <i>I'm not sure why, but I see many of those names and visualize lots of trimmers, scissors, x-acto blades and color markers being sold at Staples. >>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
See?
I see something different when i see all those names .
What I see is a lot of the old Switcho Change-O with your cards .
What prevents one from trying to pull a fast one and take your beautiful card you sent in to get graded and switching it with a nicely trimmed one , or one that has been colored in so nicely ?
What proof does one have if they ever suspected anything like that happening to their stuff ?
Just something I wonder as soon as I see that many names .
Hmmmm, I didn't happen to see the name Swindell Grading up there ?
<< <i>I have 2 more for all

It just completely blows me away how All Star grades that card as a 10 ??
I guess they pay absolutely no attention to the borders at all , Those don't matter . . . .
No wonder PSA is so buzy , we would much rather have an honest to goodness grade than a Bullcrap 10 .
It is well worth the wait .
If that ever happened to me , I would have to mail them back and tell them , you better have your graders have an eye exam and mail them back the card in the holder with an arrow pointing to the ares in question . . . that is ridiculous , they are basically in business to serve the dishonest .
What a damn shame !
What is the difference between BCCG & BGS ?
Are they not both Beckett grading ?
I only buy BCCG cards if they are cheap cards that I need for sets or player collections, and would only pay what I'd expect to pay for the cards raw (no premium).
<< <i>Wait a minute . . .
What is the difference between BCCG & BCG ?
Are they not both Beckett grading ? >>
Thank you Mr. Schr1st .
I was a little confused .
Last night my Wife/son and I went to Dave and Busters for dinner , Much like a sports bar , but they have video games you can play and win tickets for prizes , some of the prizes you can win are Tri-Star Hidden treasures packages with a graded card inside to be a BCCG 9 or better .
We won enough tickets to get 3 of them, I was a little excited to see that . . . . Until we got home and opened them up . . . all crap .
Or as my son likes to say . .
" We got crapped on again dad "
He is so funny , but he is soooooo right .
At least your son has good taste and good sense.
Kids today, I feel are far more advanced than when I was growing up.
Or maybe I was just far behind everyone else . . . LOL
Maybe you guys have seen these packages before and also , do any of you have a Dave and Busters by you ?
It is a really cool place to have some food and fun .
A little expensive though, but the kids have the time of their lives so it is worth every penny .
