All glory is fleeting.

No longer original. Any solvent affects the surface and changes the way it will react to the environment in the future. Goo Gone is a bad idea anyway as it has chemicals that will react with copper, and that are non-volatile, thus leaving residues. You will need to use acetone or some other solvent to remove the Goo Gone residue.

    IMO, yes.

Edited to add that: If rmpsrpms is correct then it may not be original. I thought goo gone was like acetone.

If I were you I would soak in acetone. It will not react with the coin in any way and would keep the coin original.

Just use an eraser to remove the grime, no chemical and if you don't add anything to it, you will end up with "Original" coin showing.

PS. I'm kidding, do NOT use an eraser on any coin.
