I thought I'd share 3 examples of a side project I've been working on when I have time. I fell in love with the '67 Stand Ups, but I kept thinking I wish so-so, was in this set. I finally decided to put together a list of players I would have liked to also have been in the set and started creating them.
Here's the first 3 I've created: Koufax, Bench, and Perez. I know technically Bench didn't have a card in 1967, but I believe he did play in 1967 hence the 68 Rookie.
Thanks to Bob for his help, without seeing a bunch of the cards, I probably would not have had an opportunity to see them all (well all but Richie, sorry Bob). Keith (CON40) also gave me some tips about fonts. And Kevin (mcholke) provided me a nice high-res scan of the Perez.
I've got more players I want to do and when I complete them, I'll post them if anyone is interested in seeing them.
edited message title, added info about Whitey and Ernie Banks

That Perez is AWESOME.
I've always liked this set; I like the football stand-ups too.

This reminds me of a feature they used to do in Beckett where they'd make cards that could have happened, like a 1984 Donruss Roger Clemens.

I should be able to blow these up to a pretty decent size and have them printed on archival quality paper (with a glossy surface such as from a photography studio). I've blown up a Rose to 12"x20" and it looks pretty cool.

ajw - Hmm, 64 Stand ups. You know, I'm still not happy they didn't stick Rose in the 64 stand ups or the 64 giants. Once I finish this project, who knows. Although, those weren't really my favorite with the yellow/green backgrounds. Had they been like a white/red or white/blue, I think that would've been cooler.
If anyone has any photos they wouldn't mind sharing with me, I'd add more guys like Carlton, Ford, Carew...etc. pm me if you have anything you'd like to share.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

What type of stock did you print it on?
The only thing I can make is canned soup.
Thanx for sharing

<< <i>Hi. Well, right now these are just digital creations. I have yet to figure out the best (most economical) way to print them as real cards. Although I've been in touch with Griffins and a couple of others. >>
Kevin
Did you get with Garett aka Knuckles - he's done the best job on the planet of making cards.
This card has all the look and feel of a professionally printed card ba manufacturer.
