New Year's Book Giveaway for Newbie Coin Collectors -- WINNER!!!

Are you so new to coin collecting that you feel any question you ask would just make you appear "dumb"? Well, have I got the book for you!! Coin Collecting for Dummies has recently been released. It is authored by a friend of mine, Ron Guth, noted auctioneer, president of CoinFacts.com (a US coins-related website), and specialist dealer in German coins and currency. I've gone through it and I find it's a well-written, lucid and fairly comprehensive reference that both complete novices and non-newbies alike will find invaluable. It also has sections on ancients and world (non-US) coin collecting.

I will be giving away a copy of this book to a randomly drawn poster (newbies only please) from among those who have signed up here by 9 PM CST on January 1st. There is one catch: You have to commit to giving this book away again within a 6-12 month timeframe ... and with this same stipulation that the book always be given away to another newbie in like timeframe. Hi Askari,

I'm not really a newbie, but I got a BORDER'S BOOKS gift card for Christmas and bought that book. I read the review by Q. David Bowers and thought it would be an interesting read. I haven't gotten into it yet (but I'm sure to enjoy it) because I'm only 2/3 through a 900 page novel from one of my favorite authors (not coin related), and my weekly Coin World keeps nosing into my reading time.

I'm guessing that ADKMIAMI won the drawing by his enthusiastic response. I'm sure he'll enjoy it!
