Did Akers pass the Gold Baton to Doug Winter, who will then pass it to whom?

My main focus of interest is collecting gold (mainly Southern gold, but don't tell anyone that I sometimes steal a peek at Philly and San Fran gold). I could be wrong on this, but I think yesterday's preeminent authority on gold coins was David Akers. I say this because Akers wrote the first big treatise on each of the gold issues. I also thought I read somewhere that Winter thought of Akers as a mentor.

I think that Akers is still around, but from my vantage point, he does not seem to be very visible in the marketplace. After Akers, it seems that Winter picked up the Gold Baton and is now widely considered the expert in gold, particularly Southern gold. I am not sure how old Winter is, but he seems fairly young, and I expect him to be around a while.

Does anyone know who Winter will pass the baton to as he reaches the twilight of his career? I am personally not aware of any young, gold afficionados out there, but I may be mistaken. Does anyone know of an up and coming dealer who focuses mainly on gold (and particularly Southern gold), who is of the Akers/Winter caliber?

    I always go with "who".

Replacing "whom" with "who" sounds somewhat respectable..... Replacing "who" with "whom" sounds a bit ridiculous to me.

For this reason, I choose "who" by default. Where I'm from, people just don't use the word "whom".

One of the greatest things I see in my area, are some real young YN's who show great promise as tommorows elite group of dealers....time will tell who or whom will pick up the torch!
