Why are my photos missing?

I posted some card scans on a thread,and no it is just a small box with a x in it-where did my scans go? any help Thanks Scott

    If you used someone else's scan, say from ebay, they might be hosted from the other person's site and they will usually disapear after the auction has been completed.

    it happened to me when i deleted the pics out of my photobucket acct. the pics i posted here ended up withe the red x. now i know.

    when you post a photo, you either upload it to the CU host site or you upload your scan or jpeg to another image hosting site such as photobucket. when you paste the location of your photo into the image link box, it is linked to a specific location. if the file is deleted from that location or you move it to another location, e.g. another folder, the link breakes and you your image does not display.
