2007 Topps Jeter

I haven't ripped a new pack of cards in 3 or 4 years. I needed bubble envelopes to ship some cards and was out of town so stopped at Walmart in Fort Smith at 11 at night. At the checkout I spotted some Topps blasters and for 9.99 for 10 packs, I bought 2 to rip in my hotel room. Bam.. first pack I hit a Jeter. I never hit anything on slots machines or ripping packs so for me a hot card is like a 1 of 1. I must admit for the price, they are some really good looking cards. Might put a set together, minus the Jeter as I put it up on the bay earlier tonight. Easy come, easy go.

Nice job on pulling that card but the ship has sailed on the high prices it was bringing.

It can be had for under $10 now. I " almost " feel bad for those people who laid out $300 for it 2 weeks ago.

One guy on ebay actually has a lot of 60 of the card for sale right now.

Pull the auction and keep it for completing your set. You'll be glad you did in the end.

I visited my local walmart tonight and they had what must of been 1000 packs of topps. Rack, boxes, single racks...what a mess. Nice
pull on the Jeter, Ill second the opinion that you should keep it and make a set.

Yea I know the ship had sailed. I checked completed auctions before I listed it. Was a cool pull
and someone will need it for a set. If I really do want a set, I'll get one later.

The ship has not sailed yet. The Jeter is still going for 5 times what it will in 2 months.

  • how many different types of boxes do topps put out on the set?

i have bought a bonus box on ebay for like $13, had 11 packs in it. Is that a good price?

11 pack blasters are 10 bucks at walmart. They are not rare in the least, so ebay is not a good place

I have a very similar story , My son was sick on monday with a fever of 102 . On my trip to the local walmart for medicine and pills i came upon 6 of the blaster 11 pack boxes . I bought 2 boxes and took them home . I had my son open 1 box and i opened the other . Doesnt he pull the Jeter out of his box . Hoping for just as good of luck i opened my box . After pulling a redemption for an auto, about the fourth pack in don`t i pull the gold version of the Jeter numbered to 5000 . Man what are the odds the boxes i picked would have both of those Jeters in them . Naturally we were both very happy !! guess i should have bought the rest of the boxes maybe i could have gotten the copper version as well !!

That seems odd because the Gold Cards are numbered xxxx/2007. They didn't make 5000 of them.

I think what Bri meant was that the ship sailed for the prices that were in the hundreds of dollars. yes it still is getting up to 5x what it is truly worth. the ship has sailed, what is left is a canoe.

Does anyone know the print run?

Hypothetically speaking, there could be more "error" Jeters than corrected ones.

How ironic would it be if the same thing happens again....

  • I have a feeling that years down the road that this card will again reprise itself as an interest to those in the hobby. Keep it to complete your set and also to show off down the road.

Last years was the rookie card mistake (his name escapes me) and the cut out of his picture.
This year to create sales was the supposed error???, of Jeter. It has created interest in the hobby
again this year and of course great for sales. I didn't buy the box just to pull a Jeter
as I rarely by new wax. But the cards are very nice for the price and I think Topps did
a great job for $1 a pack. Kids can put together a nice set. After all, we all ripped as
kids and as our income rose so did our tastes. Today's kids will be tommorrows
collectors and will be interested in our collection after we are gone. joe

  • Where did you find them for $1 a pack?!

Walmart blaster box. 10 packs + 1 extra for 9.99 if I remember correct. Price is correct. Not sure on the quantity.

I wonder how much B of A paid Topps to have their logo photoshopped in the dugout.
