OT:Some Good Thoughts For Our Furry Girl

I know it may sound silly to some but others who love and own dogs know where I am coming from. Our girl Lola is very sick and is at the animal hospital being treated for some sort of auto-immune problem which has almost wiped out her platelets and was causing her some serious problems over the last couple of days. Before we had our son last July, she was considered our first baby when we brought her home in December of 2001 so losing her would really be tough to deal with.
So for anyone out there who loves dogs please keep a good thought for her to get better. It is treatable so she does still have a chance to make it.

    Wow. Thoughts sent. My sister's dog had an auto immune problem about 6 months ago. It's not a fun time when they are so sick.

    I love dogs! I couldn't imagine life without mine. I am sending good thoughts your way. I'm sure she'll be fine and bouncing around the house in time!

    Just a quick update. We still need to talk to the vet later today to get more details but we did check this morning and Lola did make it through the night which is very good news.

    Just a quick update.
    We had to take her to the emergency vet hospital tonight because they have staff on duty 24 hours a day where as our vet has no one there between 1-6 am. Unfortunately she has taken a small turn for the worse with some fluid in her lungs but we still have hope that the meds start to work. The nice part was that we got to take her in the car and my wife got to hold her so we did get some time with her tonight.
    Once again thanks to all of you who have offered your kind words. You will never know how much it means to us!

    It's with a heavy heart that I say thank you to all the kind people on this board who wished our furry girl well during her illness. Unfortunately we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her down this afternoon as it was clear she was not going to get better and was having some serious respiratory problems because of it.
    Thanks again to everyone for their good thoughts. It was greatly appreciated!

    tho it may be of little consolation, am certain that lola truly appreciates the decsion that you made for her benefit.

    Very sorry to here that. I lost a kitten too a seizure disorder about 5 years ago and it was very tough to put it down. My condolences

    BWF and family you have my sympathies

    I had to make the decision to put our 10 year old cat to sleep on Monday. It was a very tough decision but a correct one in the end. I hate to see any animal suffer. My wife and I are upset and my son is devastated.

    My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
