I just read about this issue in Linns. The neat thing is people will be able to vote on their favorite one and it will be re-issued in August as a single.

What I want to know is how can the USPS issue stamps showing living people?

The Han Solo/Chewbacca stamp shows a picture of Harrison Ford, and the Luke Skywalker stamp shows Mark Hamill. Also, the stamp with Princess Leia and R2D2 shows Carrie Fisher.

How is this possible with the rule that no one except former Presidents can appear until they've been dead at least 10 years (and even former Presidents have to at least be dead)?
