I know the photos arn't the greatest, but does this look like the "one in neck" variety?

    There is an 1847 gold half eagle with a similar "1" at the same location of Liberty's neck.

    Looks a little too high - check out the picture in my registry set (IHC's with varieties).

    It's just a nicely placed spot in front of the neck. The real deal is obvious when you see it.

    Don't have access to my Snow books right now but there are others (other 1897 1 in Necks) than S-1.

    That's news to me. As far as I know there is only one 1897 "1-in-neck". And it's a classic IH MPD variety.
