Is it common?

As I stated in my intoruction to the board last week, I am new and I apologize for the numerous idotic questions I may bring up, but is it common to recieve a psa graded card and have the card inside a plastic sleeve within the psa holder. I have never seen a sleeve before and I just recieved a card today from a common psa7 from an auction and the sleeve is the most obvious part of the card. Also I would like to thank all of you who reponded to my first thread; your answers and suggestions were very helpful.

    Yeah, they did it for a while but I don't think they do anymore. One of the others who submit more than me would probably be able to give a better answer.

  • Travis;

    Thanks. I never came across them and I don't know if I am happy that I was not unaware of this when I bought the lot. It is my fault for not picking it up on the scan. Are they difficult to trade/sell if they have the sleeve? I am not sure if people are too fond of that.

    People are generally less fond of that. It is often referred to as a "card condom" -- it happens most frequently for odd shaped cards or cards that are slightly irregularlly cut
    I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    I got one like that in one of my last submissions. I had two Mothers Cookies cards. One got a regular slab, the other got the little bag. It doesn't really bother me much though. I wonder why they put one in the bag though.
