Mint?

Boy, this guy needs to look at this card JUST a little closer. He says it's mint in his description.

Maybe he meant plastic 'encasement' but said plastic case mint.

Maybe the card had mint mouthwash dumped on it, and is now mint flavored.

  • Mint means different things to different people.

I have never bought a raw card on eBay that was mint, although every single time, the seller thought it was.

I am sure it was mint at one time.

But it looks like it was a long time ago before the twins and the 3 dogs.

To some people, "mint" means intact, just like to some people "rookie" card is synonymous with "baseball" card.

When I see someone say "mint" in an auction - I KNOW he doesn't know what he's talking about. We should all know that by now.

Even when I was 10 and seemingly EVERY card I owned was "mint" I don't think that card would have been mint. We would have called it "Excellent." image

I think he's referring to the card case.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • No cards are Mint, a Mint is a piece of candy
  • Maybe he would like to buy my Gem Mint Favre rookie. I wished FGS was still around they always gave great grades. LOL!!

  • Even the sticker on the case has a (G) on it.

  • Sellers response-

I am sorry, we made an error in the use of the word mint. The card is in good condition inside a plastic case, the person who put the card up thought that made it mint, the card has some wear on it and the tips of 2 corners are worn. It is an old card, 54 years old, and for that age we are calling it good condition,

Sorry for our error, and thank you for pointing it out. We all wish we were perfect, but if we were, we'd demand more money.

    Thanks, Lex

  • SOME wear and the tips of TWO corners are worn. Yeah, these people shouldn't be selling cards if they refuse to look at the card. The card has more than some wear and 4 corners are ROUNDED. LOL!!!
