Stupid Question on 2006 Silver Eagle Uncs.

RichRRichR Posts: 3,985 ✭✭✭✭✭

Ok...I'm plugging away adding my recent additions into the Coin World Values database...and I ran up against the following issue.

Were the Uncs that were included in the 3-coin 20th Anniversary Silver Eagle sets the special introductory "burnished" variety, which were also sold individually by the Mint last year? Or were the coins included in the set a more common, lower value "other" type of Unc?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Coins in 3 pc set were exact same as the 2006-w $19.95 ones sold by the mint as singles (ie...burnished uncs)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

And most thought they would be dogs because they minted so many. But this is not the case. Prices will only drop on these if this years mintage falls way below 470,000 minted in 06.

Ok...so these coins are actually going for approx. $100 +/- each depending on grade, instead of the $20-$25 (for "normal" unc.) I had them slotted for???

Excellent! And I thought the reverse proof would be the only "standout" among the three...who knew?

Yes, same coin. The lower valued bullion coin doesn't have the "W" mintmark.
