    Pete just dissapoints me every time he opens his mouth these days. I'll stick to my memories of Charlie Hustle's head first slides and his mad dashes for yet another base hit.

    what's wrong with him betting on horses? he has admitted that for years...is there some sort of a news flash here that I'm missing?

    I will always remember his fight with Bud Harrelson in the playoffs.

    In my mind there is Pete Rose the HOF baseball player and Pete Rose the post hit record, gambling loud mouth.

    As a kid I idolized his work ethic on the field as he proved an average player can be great just by showing up everyday and giving 110%.

    I guess thats why Whitey Ford gave him his nickname - "Charlie Hustle"
