Question about a 1803 Gold Coin

Can anyone help me with this coin - I'm a baseball card collector and was recently given this coin as a gift. The color just doesn't look right to me.

I'm not sure how to add pictures to the message body without hosting it somewhere so I've added a front and a back scan as an attachment.

Any help would be appreciated!

It's a "kettle token" ... Look to the right of the date and you'll see "kettle"

    Here's mine:

these were made in the 1830's as gaming counters, they're not gold, and are only worth a few dollars

I think it's cool, nevertheless. If it had a hole in it like Baley's, I'd offer to buy it. Wanna sell yours, Baley? image

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
