Can someone explain the whole BCCG thing to me?

I have been frustrated trying to score a PSA 10 Bo Jackson Topps Traded rookie on eBay and started broadening my search a bit. In doing so I came across a few BCCG 10 graded examples that were anything but a "10". Wondering if this was a fluke, I searched on BCCG 10 and checked out a wide variety of these to find the same.
To be honest I have never been a fan of BGS, but this sours me even more on them. Why BGS, BVG, and BCCS? Does the definition of "gem mint", or "poor" for that matter, change based on the year of manufacturing or the amount you pay for the service? I understand that lower grade items for vintage stuff sells better on average than low grade new stuff, but the grading standards and definitions stay the same, the premium for vintage is supply and demand.
So why taint the Beckett name (further for some) with BCCG 10 cards that are anything but a 10? Is this a matter of pure greed on their part or is there something else I am missing here?

Yes, a BCCG 10 is not equal to a BGS 10. BCCG tops out at "Mint or better" and their Mint is not the same as a BGS Mint (9), or PSA or SGC or whatever. BCCG is a way to wring a few more dollars out of the graded card market. One dealer told me you basically pay for the grade. Send in a few hundred cards, and a check for $5 for each 10, $3 for each 9, etc. Actually, there is no etc., as I don't think I've ever seen a BCCG card less than a 9. There's nothing to be done about except educate those you come in contact with.

Nothing on ebay
It's basically a way for Beckett to increase their business by offering potential submitters a substantially lower submission cost, for results that will almost always end up with a 9 or 10 on the holder (simply because the 9 and 10 don't mean what they do for any other major grading company, except Pro)
par for the course for Beckett, very shady grading practices...ever heard of BGS brad?
