Take a flyer on MS65/66 saints. At $1300 they have maybe 5% downside and 30-40% upside. If or when gold hits $750+...those will finally fly. Also MS65 $3 and $5 Indians have moved up ok and have room to go. If your portfolio is not balance to at least 20-40% gold, I would move it in that direction.
If you are trying to place high in the competition and are spread out among series that means low potential and low risk. You need to go for the gusto. ASE's are a fair bet if silver takes off by the end of the year. This just sort of confirms one of my ideas that 90% of the coin market is stuff you don't want (ie low potential). And 90% of the sellers sell stuff you don't want. It's no surprise that a broad mix of pre-1930 coins does not do that well.....except maybe in gem that is.
Looks like a fun game. But if I have to spend $50-$100 to join the PCGS grading club to enter....it's not gonna happen.
