How accurate, in your opinion, is their grading? Their pix are not very good.

They tend to be conservative. However, as with any other auction, the sight-unseen bidders will tend to end up with the overgraded coins.

There are a few pieces that I wouldn't mind adding to my colonial collection, but they have some very steep expectation on some of them. Also, I'm a little upset by lack of War of Independence material.

    Well, back to my cave....

The above is why I plan on being at the show and holding the coins I want in my hand and looking them over before I bid on them

I just got my catalogue today.

I think there are going to be some real surprises in this sale.

Back when I was just getting into coins, I stopped by Pontero's table at one of the ANA Shows. I had some NGS slabbed material I wanted to sell and Pontero took a half glance at them before going on a tirade against me, TPGs and basically calling me a moron for having the gaul to even approach his booth. I decided then and there that if Pontero was the last coin dealer on Earth, I would find another line of work before dealing with him. Since then I have had some coins I KNOW he would have liked to handle, but I'm thankful there are several alternative world coin dealers I can deal with. Sorry to have to vent, but everytime I see his name it makes my blood boil image
