1853 A&R Quarter struck with clashed dies

The Cherrypickers guide has an 1853 clashed half dollar listed, but not a quarter dollar. Does anyone know how common the clashed 1853 quarters are?

Coinosaurus and Lathmach both know everything there is to know about Seated Quarters, I suggest you PM them.

Actually, Lathmach knows much more than me.

There are so many 1853A&R varieties that I would be surprised if there aren't a number of them with clashed dies. Generally speaking, there are so many clashed dies in the seated series that not a lot of attention is paid to them. I do hunt for perfect dies - like on 69-S or 75-S quarters for examples - to me those are more exciting than finding the ones with impaired dies.

Here are some pics. The obverse die was also slightly misaligned.

I always liked this one which I got from Stacks about a year ago.

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

1853 was the highest mintage year for the Seated Quarters.
This year is fertile ground for finding varieties and die states.
