My name is Lee, but you can call me Poofy....

Guinness just called me today and they said I have a chance at breaking the record for most poofed threads on an internet forum in one day. I'm only 8 away. 9 after this one.

Do I strike you guys as a trouble-maker?

Lee, are you on vacation or have you recently been fired? You seem to be posting an incredible amount these days. Very funny posts too. Suggests the possibility of alcohol and/or drug invovlement.

When you're dealing with me, alcohol is always involved. I am self-employed and since internet poker is not nearly as profitable as it once was, I have a little time on my hands. I guess I could do something more productive with my time, but I'm an American and this is what Americans do.

Lee, one of my buddies made around $40,000 profit last year playing online poker. I couldn't believe it when he told me. He's also a full time resident like me so he has very little time to do it.

Anyways, he said that there was some law recently passed that made it very difficult for the "new, stupid online poker players" (i.e., the ones that lose all their $$$) to actually play online poker. I've never played poker in my life, so I know nothing about it or the new law. Is this right-on?

Basically, the US gov't is trying to close down all the off-shore sites and get them re-established in the US so they can get their cut. They've made it so you have to jump through so many hoops to get money into an online site, only the profitable players are willing to go to those lengths. So in a word, yes, most bad players are being shutout of online poker. I've done pretty well over the past six years, but I guess it had to end somewhere. There's always live poker.

No thanks to live poker. Especially NL. Smoke filled rooms, horrible company, and 20 freaking hands an hour as every jack-off goes through their best Phil Hellmuth routine and spends five minutes pretending to agonize over folding 9 high on the river to a $300 bet instead of just mucking the freaking hand and moving on.
  • Boo,

who is that in your avatar? I've been meaning to ask you that.

I enjoy your posts so I hope they don't poof anymore. The powers that be should realize you are a good contributor around here!

Boo, most rooms have gone smoke-free. Everything else you said is true. However, at higher limits in live games it is more likely for a really big fish to sit down. Online games generally top out at $5/10 NL in terms of dead money with a few exceptions.

Guys, I can't stick around here much longer. I gotta pick up my dog and take him on a road trip. We're going to stop and get some rotisserie chicken and swing by the card shop to buy some 93 Finest.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

That's BS that my thread is gone. I just thought nobody replied so it fell off screen but I really don't see it anywhere. Maybe I should re-post to clearly state I want a guy's trip that specifically includes sports cards and/or sports memorabilia!? Jerks!!!!!
  • Instead of '93 Finest, I think you were much smarter to buy 1978 T football and 1992-93 Hoops.
